How to train your horse is very important at Classic Equestrian Center we know that an early age young domesticated horses are handled at birth or within the first few days of life. This step is very important to training your horse. Some experts believe that they should only be handled for the first time when they are weaned from their mothers, or dams. Classic Equestrian Center and others encourage the handling of foals from birth. We understand that the concept of imprinting or to introduce a foal within its first few days and weeks of life to many of the activities they will see throughout their lives. Classic Equestrian Center also strongly feels that when a foal is born a human touch is necessary within a few hours of birth. This imprinting of the human touch is very important we stress that you touch your new foal all over, pick up its feet, and introduce it to the sound of your touch and voice. Classic Equestrian Center has had many years of experience with imprinting information to the new foal while others suggest that it is better to leave a foal alone for its first few hours or days. These other experts believe that it is more important to allow the foal to bond with its dam. At Classic Equestrian Center we know that even these people that believe to differ in our opinion will tell you that imprinting the human factor still has a place of value where handling a foal a great deal while it is still nursing and too small to easily overpower a human. Classic Equestrian Center wants to give the most expert advice and training so that your foal will learn that humans will not harm it, but also that humans must be respected which is a key point as training begins and basic skills are provided to the yearling. Classic Equestrian Center now starts by training the yearling with basic skills lake accepting a halter. As they are taught basic skills and manners they progressively become accustomed to human activity. Classic Equestrian Center will help your foal to be halter-broke within the first year by using one of its skilled trainers. Our skilled equestrian trainers will help you teach your foal to have a halter placed on its head and be led by you to walk and trot, to stop on command and to stand tied. These skills are also beneficial to calm the horse. Calming a horse is also exercised in basic grooming, veterinary care and vaccinations and worming.
